Twice as many Canadians as French people say they are very happy
96% of Canadians say they are happy, 54% say they are very happy and 42% say they are somewhat happy, as opposed to 4% who say they are unhappy. As a comparison, a similar study conducted in France a few months ago reveals that only 26% of French people are happy, 63% somewhat happy and 9% unhappy.
In fact, 73% of the Canadians feel they are happier than they were five years ago, while 17% are less happy and 10% won’t say. The recipe for happiness is in a close-knit family (61%), good health (43%), children (37%), love (27%) and friends (24%).
