An economist by trade, Jean-Marc Léger, together with his father Marcel Léger, co-founded Leger, a polling and marketing research firm, in 1986. Under his tenure, Leger has undergone strong growth to become the largest Canadian-owned polling and marketing research firm. Today, the firm operates 8 offices in Canada (Montreal, Quebec City, Toronto, Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver) and the U.S. (Philadelphia) and employs a staff of over 600. Under his leadership, the company has undergone a major technological shift with 10 acquisitions, including Leger Metrics and the development of LEO, the largest panel in Canada.
Mr. Léger also founded the WIN (Worldwide Independent Network) Association, an umbrella organization of the largest independent polling and marketing research firms in 75 countries.
In 2013, Mr. Léger was elected Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan Montreal. He is a board member of the TVA television network, the Raoul Dandurand Chair on American politics and the Fondation de l’entrepreneurship. He has also served as Chairman of the Board of Université du Québec à Montréal and President of the Publicité Club de Montréal.
Mr. Léger is the author of the bestseller Cracking the Quebec Code and is a recognized expert in consumer behaviour, particularly that of millennials. Mr. Léger is a specialist in the U.S. market and maintains a strong presence in North American media.
