Transforming an Ad’s impact with Cube AI and a Simple Edit

Why Optimize Your Ad Before It Launches?

Pre-launch testing with Cube AI ensures your ad is optimized to deliver maximum impact before it goes live. Guided by Cube AI’s three fundamental principles, Get attention, Keep attention, and Drive an emotion, we analyze viewer focus and emotional engagement to identify key moments that resonate or fall flat.

We then provide actionable insights to refine the storytelling and messaging, helping ensure your ad breaks through the noise and drives ROI.

How it works – (4 days / 150 participants)

Featured Commercial – Toyota

Running this ad through Cube AI, our analysis shows a lack of emotional response to the story, along with consistent decline in attention levels. Overall, this ad achieves the 39th percentile for emotion, and 11th percentile for attention in our benchmarks. In other words, Toyota’s ad only outperforms 39% of other ads on the market in terms of emotional response and 11% in terms of attention.

Overall benchmarks allow us to set standards for how your ad is impacting the audience. With pre-launch testing, our goal is to increase those overall numbers through recommendations that will drive advertising impact.

Further studying the ad, we look at fundamental moments along the journey that are crucial to KPI’s such as long-term memory recall, brand opinion, and overall ad rating. This includes analysis of the opening moments (primacy), the final moments (recency), along with the journey in between (peaks, valleys, key moments etc.).

Below are some key findings from our analysis of the ad:

Primacy – While we see a slight gain in attention, we see little emotional response. Considering the creative, we would expect positive emotions to play a role early on.

Recency – With attention levels at their viewing low, the lack of early engagement, has led to final moments that do not have the viewer engaged.

Journey – With a flat emotional response and declining levels of attention, this ad fails to engage the viewer from its opening. A peak in emotions at 0:22 is a key moment of connection, where the audience shows engagement and emotion toward the ad.

Okay, Now What?

This ad could benefit from a stronger connection with the audience to truly resonate, but it has a standout moment that truly resonates. At 0:22 something happens that engages the audience and makes them happy. This key moment is Nikola smiling at the camera. While quick, the human response to a smile, is… a smile (Nikola and the audience are connecting)!

By finding this key moment with Cube AI, we now know what to do.

A small edit, that brings this key moment closer to the opening of the ad (0:05) pays off big. In our edited version of the Toyota ad, there is a significant improvement in both emotional engagement (63rd percentile) and attention metrics (25th percentile), driving better overall performance.

The ad captured viewer attention earlier by moving the key emotional moment from the 22-second mark to the 5-second mark, creating a stronger and more immediate emotional connection with the audience. This shift resulted in higher engagement throughout the ad, preventing the drop in attention seen in the original version’s slower build-up.

In Conclusion...

Pre-launch testing with Cube AI ensures your ads are set up for success before they hit the market. By focusing on our three core principles—Get attention, Keep attention, and Drive an emotion—Cube AI provides actionable insights to optimize your ad’s performance. We analyze viewer attention and emotional engagement to identify moments that resonate or need improvement, helping refine storytelling and messaging.

This process not only boosts audience connection and ad recall but also maximizes ROI, reducing the risk of launching an underperforming campaign. With Cube AI, you can launch your advertisements with confidence, knowing they are crafted for maximum impact. Contact us to learn more about Cube AI.
