A Year in Review: 10 of Our 2021 Successes

At Leger, we are not content to be at the forefront of the market research industry. Instead, we strive to be pioneers in our field. 

We stay on top of new technologies and constantly re-evaluate our service offerings to meet different market demands. We pride ourselves on providing innovative solutions to our clients year after year. 

We are proud to share some of our successes for the year 2021 with you. We would also like to thank our employees, clients and LEO panel members: they all play an important role in achieving these successes! 

OUR 2021 SUCCESSES…

1. WE WERE THE MOST ACCURATE POLLING FIRM FOR THE 2021 CANADIAN FEDERAL ELECTION   

Once again, this year, we were the most accurate polling firm in Canada. We delivered the most accurate polling results for the 2021 Canadian federal election, including the most accurate results in Ontario, Quebec and British Columbia.

2. WE ACQUIRED TWO NEW COMPANIES: RESSAC AND INSIGHTS WEST  

To continue our expansion in the Canadian market, broaden our range of services, increase the size of our LEO panel and reinforce our digital shift, Leger acquired Ressac and Insights West in 2021. 

Ressac is a digital performance agency specializing in media strategy and brand content activation. This strategic acquisition will enable us to offer our clients a new comprehensive service extending from market research to the execution of digital campaigns. Click here to learn more. 

Insights West was a Vancouver-based market research and analytics firm. This acquisition will enable us to achieve one of our goals for the coming year: to strengthen our presence in the British Columbia market. 3. WE HOSTED OUR FIRST 100% VIRTUAL SYMPOSIUM 

From June 7-10, 2021, we hosted Leger’s first completely virtual symposium. This event enabled our employees from across Canada and the U.S. to come together virtually to participate in innovative conferences, enriching training and, last but not least, fun social activities! The symposium’s theme was Leading the Way, and it was a great way to celebrate our successes and plan how we will continue to lead the way in the months and years to come. Click here to learn more. 

4. WE PUBLISHED 42 EDITIONS OF OUR NORTH AMERICAN TRACKER   

Launched on March 19, 2020, our North American Tracker was conducted 42 times this year! Conducted in partnership with the Association for Canadian Studies (ACS) and published in The Canadian Press and on our website, these 42 reports covered a variety of current affairs: the COVID-19 pandemic and its effects on the Canadian and U.S. population, climate change, the labour shortage, the Canadian federal election, the Olympic Games, etc. To review our full reports, click here. 

5. WE IMPLEMENTED 4 NEW DIVERSITY, EQUITY AND INCLUSION INITIATIVES  

At Leger, we strive for diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) for all. While our commitments to DEI are not new, we are pleased to share that we have increased our focus on these principles this year to create opportunities for our employees to grow and achieve more. 

We implemented four DEI initiatives:  

  1. Appointed a new DEI leader 
  1. Launched the Respectful Workplace Committee 
  1. Enhanced and updated our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Policy 
  1. Improved and Updated our Respectful Workplace Policy 

6. WE LAUNCHED THE FLEX HYBRID WORK PROGRAM FOR OUR EMPLOYEES 

In the context of the transformation of the traditional workplace, we decided to redesign our employer model. The virtualization of our business has raised many questions, and the creation of the FLEX program is the result of strategic thinking combined with the voice of our 136 employees who were surveyed. 

We now offer them the flexibility to work remotely and/or in the office through this program. In addition to ensuring business continuity, Leger’s management has put people at the heart of its priorities to ensure the health and safety of its employees: the FLEX guide addresses, among other items, the best practices to adopt for the implementation of the program. 

The employee experience is a priority for us, and we think that implementing this program will benefit the positioning of our employer brand. 

7. 98 NEW EMPLOYEES JOINED OUR TEAM  

We have recruited more than 90 new talents across Canada and the United States in less than a year, bringing our large team of experts to 235 professionals.

8. OUR EMPLOYEES RECEIVED A BONUS THROUGH OUR PROFIT-SHARING PROGRAM (PSP) 

In 2021, our employees received a bonus through our profit-sharing program (PPP). This program rewards full-time employees with a bonus if Leger exceeds its goals for the fiscal year.

9. WE HOSTED 31 WEBINARS  

More than 5,000 people participated in our 31 webinars this year! Held in English and French, these events allowed us to unveil the results of our various specialized studies. We also organized a new webinar series called “Conversations with Leger’s Academic Committee”, which examines the post-pandemic world from different angles based on the expertise of Leger’s Academic Committee members. 10. WE CONDUCTED 7.2 MILLION ONLINE SURVEYS AND 212,700 TELEPHONE SURVEYS
