Jacques Robert is an honorary professor at HEC Montréal. He holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Western Ontario. He taught for 12 years in the Department of Economics at the Université de Montréal before joining the Department of Information Technology at HEC Montréal. At HEC Montréal, he has held numerous roles: Director of the Information Technology and International Affairs Departments, Associate Director of Research, Director of the PhD Program, and member of the Executive Committee.

He is one of the founding fellows of CIRANO, where he has led major research projects in e-commerce. He is one of the creators of the ERPsim simulation and a co-founder of Baton Simulations.
