Leger Acquires Insights West

November 10, 2021

Montreal, November 10, 2021 – Leger is pleased to announce the acquisition of Insights West, a Vancouver-based market research and analytics firm with expertise across a full spectrum of research techniques and sectors, and the owner of the reputable Insights West online panel.

This strategic acquisition will enable Leger to continue expanding in the growing markets of Vancouver and British Columbia at large, offer new methodological approaches and increase the size of its Leger Opinion (LEO) panel.

Steve Mossop, the president and founder of Insights West, will become the executive vice-president of Leger’s Vancouver office. Prior to founding Insights West, Steve was the CEO at Angus Reid Forum and the president of market research Canada West at Ipsos. He has spent his entire career in the market research industry and is well-regarded as a public speaker and media spokesperson on topical polls of importance to British Columbians.

Leger is proud to serve the Vancouver and B.C. markets and is looking forward to future growth. Insights West is the second Vancouver-based company it has acquired in 2 years after NRG Research Group in 2019. The entire Insights West team will be integrated into Leger’s team, and the size of Leger’s Vancouver office will double with the addition of these new employees.

“Steve Mossop is an experienced and passionate researcher who is supported by a team of senior professionals who are committed to research excellence. This acquisition represents the union of two companies with the same values, same approach, and same commitment to providing clients with actionable strategic insights based on a solid and accurate online panel,” said Jean-Marc Léger, President, Leger.

“I’m thrilled to be joining the Leger team nearly 10 years after I started Insights West,” said Steve Mossop, President of Insights West. “My team is ready to join the fastest-growing research company with the largest and best online panel in Canada, and we are eager to introduce our clients to an expanded toolbox and set of capabilities. I’m looking forward to continuing my role in the years to come by providing clients with actionable insights to help them grow their business.”

This is Leger’s second acquisition in less than a month after acquiring digital agency Ressac and its 12th acquisition in total. The company will continue to pursue additional growth opportunities.
