On December 8, 2021, at noon Eastern Time, we hosted a webinar featuring Dr. Chuck Chakrapani, President, Leger Analytics; Distinguished Visiting Professor, Ryerson University

The industrial revolution took 150 years to change the world, but the internet revolution brought major changes to our lives in less than 20 years. Our lives are going to change yet again in a major way. There are at least seven major technologies currently underway that will positively disrupt our lives: deep-learning chips (machine learning and AI), blockchain technology (privacy), genetic sequencing, cell and gene therapy (medicine), 3-D printing (manufacturing), autonomous driving (mobility), space travel (robotics) and the next-generation internet.

Most of us may have heard of these technologies but may not realize how fast they are moving. COVID-19 has accelerated such innovation and, within the next 5 to 10 years, the world will change dramatically fuelled by machine learning and artificial intelligence. All these changes will have a major impact on how we collect and process data and how analytics, machine learning and AI can help. This webinar provided an early peek into how the world will change in the near future.
