British Columbians’ Views on Vaccination and Vaccines

April 19, 2021

From April 2-4, 2021, on behalf of Postmedia, Leger conducted an online survey among British Columbians to explore their views on vaccination, vaccines and support for leaders.

SOME OF THE KEY FINDINGS OF OUR SURVEY ON VACCINATION AND VACCINES INCLUDE…

  • Half (49%) of British Columbians who haven’t received a COVID-19 vaccine agree that when they receive it, they will tell everyone they know.
  • One-quarter feel they should be vaccinated sooner than others (27%), and/or have feelings of jealousy (25%) and/or anxiety (25%).
  • Three-quarters of B.C. residents feel there should be a vaccine passport for international travel, for both those visiting B.C. (77%) and leaving B.C. (75%).

SURVEY METHODOLOGY

  • 1,004 residents of British Columbia aged 18 or older were surveyed online using Leger’s online panel, LEO, from April 2-4, 2021.
  • Using data from the 2016 Census, the results were weighted according to age, gender, and region in order to ensure a representative sample of the population in British Columbia.
  • No margin of error can be associated with a non-probability sample. However, for comparative purposes, a probability sample of 1,004 respondents would have a margin of error of ±3.1%, 19 times out of 20.
