For immediate release

Montreal, April 14, 2020 – We are pleased to announce the appointment of Jean-Marc Léger, CEO of Leger, and Rob Berger, Managing Director of Maru/Blue, as ESOMAR’s new Canadian representatives.

ESOMAR – the global community which represents data, research, insights and analytics professionals – is both honoured and very happy to welcome two of the most prominent researchers and leaders in the Canadian data, research, and insights industry. As both industry leaders and board members of its partner association, the CRIC (Canadian Research Insights Council), ESOMAR is thrilled to have their support in further developing its offerings to its Canadian colleagues.

“These appointments demonstrate our intention to increase the support we can offer our Canadian and North American members and partners and build bridges to our many other member communities across the world,” said Finn Raben, General Director of ESOMAR.

Jean-Marc Léger is an economist and the founder of Leger, the largest Canadian-owned market research and polling firm. Additionally, he is the principal founder of the WIN Network (Worldwide Independent Network of Market Research) and previously served as president of the network. He is also a member of the CRIC’s Board.

“I have been working with ESOMAR for many years and decided to be more active to help them succeed in Canada, especially given the plans (COVID-19 permitting), to host this year’s annual Congress in Toronto,” noted Léger.

Rob Berger is the Managing Director of Maru/Blue and leads its online sample and data services business globally. He is an industry-leading expert in online sampling and insight communities. Rob has over 22 years of experience in market research and previously worked at Maru/Matchbox as Managing Director, Market Communities. He also previously served at Vision Critical and Ipsos.

“I am very pleased to represent ESOMAR in Canada and look forward to contributing to its growing success in the North American market, said Berger.

“We are delighted to welcome Jean-Marc and Rob and make a great success of the annual ESOMAR Congress in Toronto in September,” mentioned Reg Baker, the US representative of ESOMAR, who will work closely with the Canadian team in the coming months.
