SURVEY METHODOLOGY

This survey was conducted using computer-assisted web interviewing (CAWI).

It was conducted from October 2-5, 2020, among 500 residents of Calgary proper (Calgarians) and 500 residents of Edmonton proper (Edmontonians), aged 18 or older, who are eligible to vote in the next municipal election.

Using data from the 2016 Census, the results were weighted according to age, gender, and region in order to ensure a representative sample of the population.

As a non-random internet survey, a margin of error is not reported. For comparison purposes, if the data were collected through a random sample, the margin of error would be ±3.1%, 19 times out of 20 for the total sample (n=1,000), ±4.4%, 19 times out of 20 for the Edmonton Proper sample (n=500), and ±4.4%, 19 times out of 20 for the Calgary Proper sample (n=500).
