[WEBINAR] Lottery Retail Recovery: What to Expect in 2021

4 March 2021

COVID-19 has had far-reaching impacts on multiple sectors, including the lottery sector. Leger has been monitoring how the pandemic has impacted lottery players, retailers, and lotteries themselves for the past year.

Retailers are the conduit between players and the lottery: they hear about the winning and losing, the good and the bad, and as such, they are an extremely valuable source of information.

On March 4, 2021, at 1:00 PM Eastern Time, we conducted a webinar about how COVID-19 has impacted lottery at key retailers and what to expect for lottery retail recovery in 2021. We also discussed the relationships between players, retailers, and lotteries and built on the insights shared in our October 2020 webinar.

Simon Jaworski, the president of Leger’s US office, and Jason Allsopp, the vice-president of Leger’s Vancouver office, shared a short presentation about our latest lottery survey findings. Following the presentation, we held a panel-style discussion featuring three special guests:

  • Bob Hornberger, Cash Management and Lottery Project Lead, Wawa
  • Mike Prasla, Owner, Rudy’s – the largest independent lottery retailer in Texas
  • Lance Anderson, Assistant Director of Sales, Washington’s Lottery
