Birth Control & Abortions [Leger – The Atlantic]

In collaboration with The Atlantic, Leger regularly surveys Americans about a variety of topical issues and current events. From September 24 to 26, 2021, we explored their perspectives about birth control and abortions.

This survey asked Americans:

  • if they currently use an IUD or implant for birth control (among those who could become pregnant)
  • if they would consider getting an IUD or implant if birth control is further restricted in their state (among those who could become pregnant)
  • their awareness of Aid Access, Plan C, Carafem or Abortion on Demand
  • their perspectives on the safest option for pregnant women who decide to have an abortion in the first trimester (among those who live in states where abortions are impossible)
  • and more

SURVEY METHODOLOGY

This web survey was conducted from September 24 to 26, 2021 among 1,001 Americans, 18 years of age or older, randomly recruited from Leger’s online panel, LEO.

For comparison, a probability sample of this size would have a margin of error of ±3.09%, 19 times out of 20.
