Manitoba COVID-19 Vaccination Survey

January 29, 2021

From January 15 to January 21, 2021, Leger surveyed 800 Manitobans to explore their perspectives on the COVID-19 vaccine.

We asked Manitobans about their intention to receive a COVID-19 vaccine, their opinions on vaccine safety, and their opinions on the provincial government’s determination of priority groups and plan to ensure the availability of the vaccine.

SOME OF THE KEY FINDINGS INCLUDE…

  • Overall, 72% of Manitobans intend to get vaccinated when the COVID-19 vaccine is widely available.
  • 49% mentioned that they are generally pro-vaccine but worried about the safety of this vaccine.
  • The majority of Manitobans are comfortable with how the provincial government is determining the priority groups for vaccination.
  • Three-in-five Manitobans are confident in the provincial government’s plan to ensure all willing residents will receive the vaccine.

SURVEY METHODOLOGY

  • A total of n=800 online surveys were conducted among Manitobans aged 18 or older via Leger’s online panel, LEO.
  • The survey was conducted from January 15 to 21, 2021.
  • As a non-probability internet survey, a margin of error is technically not to be reported. If the data were collected through a probability sample of Manitobans, the margin of error would be ±3.5%, 19 times out of 20.
  • Using data from the 2016 Census, results were weighted according to age, gender and region in order to ensure a representative sample of the population.
