Leger Acquires SmartPoint Research

November 30, 2020

Montreal, November 30, 2020 – Leger is pleased to announce the recent acquisition of SmartPoint Research; a Toronto-based market research firm specialized in the consumer and healthcare sectors.

This strategic acquisition will enable Leger to increase the size of its Leger Opinion (LEO) panel, supplement its patient and healthcare professional panels, and broaden its healthcare research service offering.

“Sam Rai, the current President of SmartPoint Research, is an exceptional professional who offers outstanding service to his clients. He will join our team as Vice-President, Leger Opinion. With over 25 years of experience in consulting and market research, Sam will be an excellent addition to lead our Leger Opinion team in Toronto,” said Jean-Marc Léger, Founding President and CEO of Leger.

“I’ve always viewed Leger as a highly reputable market research firm who is results-driven and currently growing at an incredible speed. I’m thrilled to join the Leger Opinion team and look forward to sharing LEO’s products and services with the global market, along with further expanding the team in Toronto,” added Sam Rai, President, SmartPoint Research.

With the acquisition of SmartPoint Research, Leger further solidifies its position as the Canadian leader in the online research industry. Its LEO panel, the largest proprietary panel in Canada, has over 400,000 members.

Recently, Leger presented the most accurate election polling results for the 2019 Canadian federal election and the 2020 British Columbia and New Brunswick provincial elections, which is a testament to the quality of the LEO panel and the expertise of Leger’s 600 employees across Canada and the United States.

Leger will continue to look for acquisition and growth opportunities in the coming months.
