  • 51% of Albertans are satisfied with the outcome of the recent Alberta election, while 40% are dissatisfied.
  • 65% of Albertans who voted in the election were motivated to make their choice as a vote in support of the party they chose, rather than a vote against the other party they didn’t choose.
  • The top two issues Albertans feel the new government should focus on are improving the delivery of health care and helping with the cost of living
  • Following the Alberta election, 47% of Albertans think Premier Smith should continue to push back strongly against the federal government and advocate for Albertans, while 40% feel she should be less combative and more collaborative.

SURVEY METHODOLOGY

  • A total of n=1,002 online surveys were conducted among Albertans aged 18 or older via Leger’s LEO panel.
  • The survey was conducted from June 2 to 5, 2023, using computer-assisted web interviewing (CAWI) technology.
  • Using data from the 2021 Census, the results were weighted according to age, gender, region and education in order to ensure a representative sample of the population.
  • As a non-random internet survey, a margin of error is not reported. If the data were collected through a random sample, the margin of error for a sample size of n=1,002 would be ±3.1%, 19 times out of 20.
